Marian Panchón Hidalgo
Marian Panchón-Hidalgo, PhD in Translation and Interpreting from the University of Salamanca and the Université Toulouse Jean-Jaurès, is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting at the University of Granada since 2020. Previously, she worked for ten years at French universities and has been a visiting scholar at international institutions such as Université Bordeaux Montaigne, Université Sorbonne Paris Nord, École normale supérieure Lyon and the Universidad Nacional de La Plata. Her main lines of research focus on the study of translation and (self-)censorship of Francophone literature under the Franco dictatorship, as well as on the question of the recovery, through translation, of silenced or forgotten voices of the 20th century. In relation to these topics, in 2023 she co-edited a special issue of the Colombian journal Mutatis Mutandis entitled "Traducción (auto)censurada en los mundos hispánicos" (No. 16-2) and in 2024 she edited the volume Traductions, traductrices et femmes (re)traduites: la place des sources (Cahiers d'ALLHiS no. 8, Éditions Chemin de tr@verse). Finally, in 2025, she co-edited the special issue “Traducción y recuperación de voces olvidadas en Francia y España (siglos XX-XXI)” / “Traduction et récupération de voix oubliées en France et en Espagne (XXe et XXe siècles)” of the Spanish journal Thélème (40-2) and the book ¿Traductor o traductoide? Reflexiones en torno a la inteligencia artificial en traducción literaria (Vertere. Monográficos de la Revista Hermeneus, 27).
